Information you provide
We collect account details such as name, email address, authentication identifiers, profile preferences, quiz answers, goals, dietary preferences, meal logs, check-ins, coach messages, cravings entries, and other content you choose to enter in Avela.
Photos and food content
If you use photo logging, menu scanning, fridge scanning, or profile photo features, we collect the images you upload and related analysis output so the app can estimate meals, identify foods, suggest choices, and show your history.
Subscriptions and purchases
Apple and RevenueCat process subscription status, renewal state, product identifiers, and purchase history. Avela uses this data only to unlock paid features, restore purchases, and provide account support.
Device and diagnostics
We may collect device, app version, crash, performance, and diagnostic data through service providers such as Sentry so we can fix bugs, prevent abuse, and keep the app reliable.
AI service providers
Avela uses third-party AI providers, including OpenAI-compatible services, to analyze meals, menus, fridge images, and coaching context. We send only the information needed to provide the requested feature and do not sell your personal information.
Authentication and infrastructure
We use service providers for sign-in, hosting, storage, email, analytics, payments, subscriptions, crash reporting, and security. These providers process data for Avela under their terms and only for the services they provide to us.
How we use data
We use your data to create and secure your account, personalize coaching, analyze food inputs, maintain your subscription access, provide customer support, improve product quality, comply with legal obligations, and protect Avela and our users.
Account deletion
You can delete your account inside the app from Account > Delete account. Deletion removes your Avela account and app data from active systems. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled separately in App Store subscription settings.
Retention
We keep data only as long as needed to operate the service, provide support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and maintain backups. Deleted account data may remain briefly in backups or logs before routine expiry.
Your choices
You can update profile details in the app, decline optional camera or photo permissions, stop uploading new content, restore or manage subscriptions through Apple, delete your account in the app, or contact us for privacy questions.

Avela provides behavior-support and nutrition-planning guidance. It is not a
medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. If you
have a medical condition, are pregnant, are recovering from an eating disorder,
or have been given a prescribed nutrition plan, use clinician-provided guidance first.
